    VP - Bank Regulatory

    Exciting opportunity to join a Regulatory Capital Reporting team. The candidate will be responsible for supervising the preparation of regulatory capital information for internal management reports and regulatory filings, including quarterly Federal Reserve Board filings for both Basel I and Basel II (FR Y-9C, Schedule HC-R, and FFIEC 101). The candidate will also be involved in the development of systems and solutions geared towards enhancing the firm’s regulatory reporting flows, automating data gathering processes and developing analytical tools.

    Financial Controller - Internet Firm

    Job Description

    E-Commerce imaging company is looking to hire a controller, to assist the new CFO in setting up and building out the finance function.  The controller will be required to select and implement a General Ledger and other accounting systems, and set up policy and procedure within the department                

    The role will include the preparation of monthly financials, and the set up of budgeting systems and production of monthly budgets together with variance analysis.

    Role and Responsibilities

    Detailed responsibilities include:

    • Document existing financial systems and suggest and implement improvements
    • Investigate new accounting software, select and implement selected system together with IT department and outside consultants
    • Research accounting issues to insure compliance with GAAP                      
    • Manage billing and accounts payable personnel
    • Work with outside auditors on annual audit

The HFS Group manages approximately $20 billion of client capital in fund of hedge fund portfolios

    Senior VP – Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy

    We are seeking a Senior VP to lead accounting policy and SEC/Fed reporting for Asset Management Controllers. Candidate will need to review and analyze existing and proposed fund structure, provide accounting guidance to various constituents, and coordinate and implement new financial reporting disclosures related to the asset management business. The candidate will work closely with Financial Reporting, Accounting Policy, Controllers, Tax, Legal, and external Auditors.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Research/interpret existing and proposed accounting standards and apply to asset management business
    • Manage a quarterly consolidation analysis involving approximately 1,000 entities/funds

    Accounting Manager - Bank

    The Accounting Managerwill be part of the overall Controllers team, specifically supporting the Private Wealth Management (PWM) business.  The successful candidate will develop an understanding of the PWM brokerage business and be responsible for preparing and analyzing the related p&ls as well as handling management reporting. The role provides exposure to various products and businesses across the firm and interaction with the Business, Operations, Technology and other Controllers teams.  The candidate will also participate in various IT projects and manage junior staff.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Develop a broad understanding of the PWM business and related products, data flows and accounting procedures.
    • Prepare, review and analyze brokerage p&ls, which includes daily p&l reporting and variance analysis, daily customer balance and liquidity reports, revenue and funding analyses, and responsibility for the month-end close process.
    • Prepare and review management reports and analysis to highlight specific p&l drivers, revenue trends and key business metrics.
    • Create and implement new management reports and control procedures around p&l processes and reporting.
    • Manage PWM Controllers responsibilities as part of cross-divisional projects related to PWM geographic and product expansion.

    Controller – ETF advisor

    Commodity pool operator and commodity trading advisor to 11 NYSE/Arca listed ETF funds which have approximately $11.0 Billion AUM. 

    The commodity advisor is seeking to appoint a Controller who will be responsible for all aspects of the financial oversight of the 11 funds and the advisor business.  

    The position will be based in New York and will report to the business CFO.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Service provider relationship management - relationship manager for the following service providers to the funds: Fund Administrator, External Auditor, Tax Advisors and Outside Legal Counsel
    • External Financial Reporting - Quarterly SEC reporting: preparation of fund 10Q's/10-K's for filing with the SEC
    • Management Reporting - Monthly internal reporting for the commodity pool advisor entity;  updating the books and records of the commodity pool advisor to recognize revenues and expenses - the management fee income and service provider expenses
    • Tax Reporting - Primary contact to PWC with oversight responsibility for all tax matters related to Commodity Services

    Financial Accounting Manager - Insurance

    The Finance Close Manager is responsible for assisting with and tracking the overall mobilization and management of the quarterly close process liaising with Finance team members in the Corporate office, Regional offices and Reporting Offices.  He/She has oversight over the issues that originate in the Corporate office and in the regions and is responsible for preparing management status reporting highlighting key issues to senior management.  Main responsibilities include:

    • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Corporate office as well as the regional offices to manage expectations of service, including deliverables, timing and value to be delivered for the quarterly Financial Close process.
    • Act as liaison and a primary communication channel between the region and Corporate office on issue resolution, status reporting, project execution and prioritization.
    • Set up, lead and participate in quarterly close status meetings and engage key stakeholders in assuring timely information and update for these meetings.
    • Identify and prioritize key issues given resource and timing constraints and shifting management priorities.
    • Work with the Sharepoint system assuring that all issues lists, post close journal entries and SAB 99's are being managed and addressed in a timely manner.
    • Manage internal and external dependencies and liaise with regional and reporting offices on various finance close related tracking and issues.
    • Ensure key risks and issues are identified, documented, mitigated and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders and senior management in a timely manner.
    • Adopt project management processes including risk and issue management, dependency management, status reporting, change control, etc.
    • Manage the day to day activities for the 302 Certification quarterly process.
    • Work with the Corporate Office and Regional Offices to accumulate information to facilitate the Regional scorecard process.

    VP - Regulatory Reporting (Focus)

    VP, Financial Control - Capital Markets

    The Financial Control team is responsible for all financial control matters associated with financial reporting under US and Foreign GAAP for US and Group reporting purposes, regulatory reporting to the SEC and other regulatory bodies in addition to reporting to the business units and senior management committees the financial performance of the business units and the company.

    The Principal Accountant is responsible for all financial reporting and accounting matters with regard to portfolio’s of securities issued in part by variable interest entities. With a focus on this area as well as involvement elsewhere:

    • Assist with financial reporting of the company for US and Foreign reporting purposes, including:
      • Participate in the month end close process, consolidate wholly owned subsidiary and prepared related financial statements for business unit review
      • Review month end financial statements and report on variance fluctuations
      • Prepare various head office templates for external reporting at quarter and year end
    • Assist and initiate process and system changes including as a result of the following
      • New reporting/accounting requirements (including the introduction of international standards for Group purposes)
      • New systems in Finance and the wider organization.
      • New businesses, products or activities
    • Get involved with various projects as required and support and prepare ad-hoc analysis for firm business units as requested
    • Assist with the maintenance of accurate books and records in accordance with GAAP and internal policies:
      • Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts
      • Reconcile Daily P&L vs. actual GL results on a monthly basis
